Maria Beatriz joined the firm in 2020. She is experienced in cross-border financings and capital markets transactions. Prior to joining the firm, María Beatriz worked as an international associate at Sidley Austin LLP (New York office), where she advised local banks in asset-backed facilities and launched several investment funds under U.S. and Ontario law. She has also been trained at the Banking & Finance Tier 1 Mexican law firm Mijares Angoitia Cortés y Fuentes where she participated in the financing of Latin America’s biggest Eolic energy project valued at US$150 million. She has provided legal support in the development of oil and gas projects, advised companies and projects in debt deals, and negotiated BOT and O&M agreements.
- Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional as liquidity lender in the first refinancing of a 4G toll-road project in Colombia (Concesión Alto Magdalena) of US$295 million.
- Caoba Inversiones, Celsia Colombia S.A. E.S.P. and Cubico Sustainable Investments in a US$340 million syndicated credit facility for the acquisition and construction of power transmission assets in the Departments of Tolima, Córdoba, Sucre and Bolivar of Colombia.
- Celsia S.A. E.S.P. in connection with the financing of receivables to IDB Invest for COP$250,000 million, deriving from the energy supply to regulated and non-regulated users.
